The Oaks at Southlake Commons

Rodney is the best! He toured me around and got me settled in in less than 4 days! No scams no hidden prices! Even after I moved in he remained friendly and is always asking how to have fun and enjoy our time in the complex. He cares about what he does and enjoys making us feel comfortable where we live. Our move-in process was honestly a breeze. The leasing team made everything feel seamless, and the special they were running at the time — free rent divided across the year — made this community stand out from others in the area. We were really pleased with how easy and smooth everything felt at the start. However, about a month or two into living here, we began noticing ants in our unit. One night I woke up to use the restroom and found dozens of ants on my phone and around my child’s bed, as well as throughout the bathroom and even on the toilet. It was a very unsettling experience, especially with small children. We notified the office and had pest control come out several times. The only good thing about this apartment was the leasing staff Loyda, she makes sure everything you need gets handled. After moving states, our move in day was greeted walking in the door to our apartment with a dead roach on the ground and a live one in the sink. Immediate red flags but figured it sat empty we will see. The rest of the apartment was not very clean. Dirt in cabinets. Bathroom not very clean. That night going into the kitchen we were greated by 4 German cockroaches running around our fridge. At this point it was clear that this apartment had an infestation based on the size and quantity we were finding. Brought to office attention following day and got pest control to spray 3 days later. The Oak at Southlake commons I’ve had a great experience living at The Oak Apartments. Everything has been smooth so far—no issues at all. The apartments are very clean, and the common areas are always well maintained. The office staff is professional and attentive. I’d especially like to highlight Ashley; she is always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help with a smile. She’s also the only bilingual staff member in the office, which makes a big difference for Spanish-speaking residents. Ashley, you will be truly missed. Thank you for your kindness and support!
