The Madison Apartments

My mom moved from AZ to NC and decided to rent one of their apartments sight unseen based on pictures that were shown to her. The location seemed perfect, and the apartment looked great in the photos. Things quickly turned out to be very different. Only the kitchen had actually been upgraded. The rest of the apartment was in poor condition. The paint job was terrible, and the overall quality of the apartment didn’t match the pictures. Within a few months of moving in, my mom had to have the fridge replaced since it stopped working. The apartment had a severe roach and pest infestation, including black widows. This was especially alarming because my mom is very particular about cleanliness due to her OCD, and never had a pest problem before. She called the front office multiple times req

DO NOT MOVE HERE! The units are old, there are too many roaches for comfort, the maintenance workers are unprofessional and unhelpful. I stayed at this complex entirely too long. The pool is hardly ever open, the gym is so outdated its full of dust, and the mailboxes don't lock. I had a window leak in my sunroom for over 6 months. Every time it rained, my home would be flooded. They told me there was nothing they could do until the rain stopped. By the 5th month, there was so much damage, they had to contract a vendor to restore the windows and paint. The power breaker went bad. Each time I would use my dryer it would cut off all the power in my unit. Instead of investigating the problem, they would simply flip the switch to turn the power back on. Quiet, clean, homely neighborhood. Everyone keeps to themselves and respects each others space. I feel safe in this neighborhood. I like that they have a dog park and dog stations to drop off waste. The trash compactor is great for dropping off trash daily. Looking forward to the summer to see what activities they will bring for the community to participate in.

My sister and I moved out early October 2025 and have yet to receive our security deposit back. We’ve contacted them on multiple occasions and they claim to look into it and hang up. I stop by the office as well and still get no answer other than they are “looking into it “. When we signed the lease, it was under another management and that management was great. The new management obviously are having issues. I’m starting to think that we are never going to get our security deposit back at this point. Update. I was sent a virtual card via email after my first review which is difficult to use but hey. At least I got it back.. finally! Thank you.

I’ve been here for a month and the place is very well maintained, apartment is pretty descent, this location is quiet and convenient access to lot of places, you can easily schedule pest control using the app which is really important in NC. Access to mcalpine trail is a blessing and the office folks are cool people.
