The Lodge at Allendale

I’ve had such a great experience living here. My bedroom and bathroom feel super private, and the shared space is actually designed for real life. The kitchen is open and bright, which makes cooking with roommates easy and fun. Maintenance has been responsive and the common areas stay clean. The location near GVSU is clutch for classes and errands, and it still feels quiet when you need to decompress. I feel safe, the staff is friendly, and the community has been welcoming. Honestly, it already feels like home. 5/5, would recommend.

I’ve absolutely loved living in this apartment! From the moment I moved in, everything has exceeded my expectations. The unit is modern, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of natural light and thoughtful design touches that make it feel like home. The management team is responsive, professional, and genuinely cares about the residents. Maintenance requests are handled quickly, and communication is always clear and timely. It’s clear they take pride in keeping the property in top shape. The location is also a huge plus — close to everything I need (groceries, restaurants, public transportation), but still quiet and peaceful. I feel safe here, and the community is friendly and respectful. If you’re looking for a comfortable, stress-free living experience, I highly recommend this place.

The Lodge at Allendale is a pretty good place to live, as long as you can put up with others late night shenanigans. I have no issues with the property itself. The rooms are more modern than some of the other off campus living areas, but seem to be a bit smaller. The property amenities are very nice; the pool and clubhouse is always clean, the coffee machine, when working, is useful during late night crams, and the gym while small has everything you need. The only issue with the property is usually the other tenants. Many leave large amounts of trash around, usually dog poo. Sometimes in winter it will stack up outside and thaw and the entire property will smell of dog poo, but that’s more irresponsible owners than the Lodge’s fault. Pet waste, entitled and childish neighbors, I was also brushed off by management a few times on concerns. Who wants to deal with housing issues after working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week?? But Maintenance? They are awesome They replied saying they would take action and nothing was done, just like the last 3 times I complained. Like I said don’t sign here. Keep your peace!

This is my first year living at the lodge and it has been great. I love how the apartment comes fully furnished and how supportive all the staff is here. I am in a 4 person apartment and it definitely fits all of us comfortably with us being able to spend time in the kitchen and living room, but also being able to have our own space if we want that.
