The Kiley

I have lived at The Kiley since September 2022. While my first couple of years were generally positive, my experience changed dramatically after August 2025, and living here since then has been unnecessarily difficult and exhausting. Since August 2025, I have experienced ongoing noise disturbances from a neighboring unit, including repeated door slamming, loud music, and late-night noise (door/wall slamming and banging) that can be felt inside my apartment, especially in my bedroom, which shares a wall with the neighbor’s living room and kitchen. Rest at home has become unpredictable, which is particularly frustrating given that I pay well over $2,200 in rent. To my knowledge, other neighbors have raised similar concerns as well. Although the amenities and location are great, the smoke smell is not worth it. It says it is a smoke-free apartment, but management does not do anything to stop people from smoking in their apartments. The smoke easily travels to other apartments through the vents. Every morning, my husband and I had to deal with dense smoke in our bathroom coming from the vent. We complained to management daily, but nothing changed. We only stayed in the apartment for three months before leaving. We know of at least one other person who broke her lease early because of the smoke. If you are looking for somewhere to live in Southwest, look elsewhere. It is not worth it.

I lived at the Kiley for over two years. Overall, it was a fine experience. The apartments are nice and updated. The building amenities are pretty good. The pool is kept clean and is enjoyable during the summer. The gym doesn’t have the newest or nicest equipment, but it’s fine. For a building that is named after a landscaping architect, the outdoor areas leave A LOT to be desired. Over the spring and early summer the grassy areas in the “courtyard” grew to over a foot with plenty of weeds. My dog was buried under the tall grass and we couldn’t really use that area. Other areas of the courtyard that should have grass are just bare dirt and a ton of gross mushrooms grow for weeks without any attempt to get rid of them (see photo). I've been a current resident at Kiley and would describe the experience as mixed. The apartments themselves are well-designed and comfortable, although the hot water in the showers tends to be more lukewarm than hot, which is a consistent inconvenience. The community is generally quiet. I’ve had no real issues with neighbors, some are friendly, others keep to themselves, which is fairly typical in a residential setting. One ongoing issue is the rodent activity in the common courtyard and around the building exterior. This has been noticeable and should be addressed more proactively by management to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Recently stayed in the lobby waiting for a business meeting. Receptionist lady was the most sassy and most unprofessional person i’ve probably ever seen while on the clock. She was yelling at people for no reason, on the phone the whole time she’s at work, and talking over all of the tenants. At some point her and her friend decided to give us a death stare for a solid 3-4 minutes as I guess they had decided we were waiting in their lobby too long, after she had already questioned twice while simply minding our business. How can incompetent, rude people like this be working customer service positions? Mind your business and leave people alone, your job isn’t to harass and bother people.
