The Genesis Apartments

Wish I had never signed my lease. Management is biased even though they say they aren't. Good luck if you have trouble with anybody cause they give out endless warnings and never do anything! Constant roof construction and the workers just throw insulation in front of the staircases. New management is just as bad as old management, nothin changed. This place is literally falling apart. It's ghetto too cause people harass you and scratch up your car. Also there are no events. False advertising on their website. Don't move here!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible. Within my first month of staying there, my AC kept going out and exceeding temperatures over 80 degrees. I had to drive an hour home multiple times just so I wouldn't pass out. It took maintenance 4 MONTHS to fix this because they kept putting it off. Wifi is trash. If you're a student, you might as well stay on campus to do your homework. The maintenance team is weird. There was a time the maintenance guy showed up and tried coming into my unit early in the morning just to "see if I had any issues". I never put in a request, they should not be showing up or trying to enter unattended. I usually sleep in late but just so happened to be up early that day. For what you're paying for, its not worth it at all. I liked living at my dorm more than here. Please look somewhere else wh

We are so happy we chose Genesis for my daughter & her room mate! We were afraid, from prior reviews, that the apartment would not meet the beauty of the model unit we viewed on our tour. On the contrary! The apartment is gorgeous & spacious! Looks to be all redone, with brand new appliances. The blinds & cabinetry are high end. Even though the apartment is on 3rd floor, the stairwell is easy to climb & move up furniture. The outside is freshly painted, the pool is lovely, & there is a bridge crossing straight on to ULL campus. 5 stars for the easy checkin & quick online lease signing & rent paying portal! Absolute Hell. This is just not worth it, roaches, mold, infestations, things are constantly broken. We have had no internet for about 5 months straight before because of "repairs" in addtion to that we have had: strangers roaming around and robbing apartments and flashing people through bedroom windows. I know it looks like it's cheap and close to campus so it's a good choice, but all the money you're saving will probably end up going to replacing your damaged stuff, paying for your own wifi, etc etc you're not actually saving any money. you are wasting your money. Go for it if you want to pay average rent prices for a cheap horrible living situation.

One star is too much. I am helping my 21 year old son move out of these apartments. The name of them is The Genesis Lafayette. He has been complaining for months. He has busted ceiling in kitchen and all the base boards and sheet rock have black mold. Knats and roaches are terrible. There are also leaks out of the ceiling in the bathroom. I was totally shocked when I seen the living conditions. I have taken pictures but they don't give justice with seeing in person. Not sure what can be done but you can also see the reviews on this complex. He was even sick a couple times and I cant help to think that it maybe from the apartment. Thanks. Concerned father.
