The Fairways at Timber Banks

In addition to being informed about an upcoming rent increase that will add about $250 a month to my rent, we now were told today that we need to carry $300,000 in liability insurance. We had been required to carry only $100,000 for the 8 years that I have lived here. So not only will my rent go up $250 a month, my required renters insurance will cost me three times as much. $2500 a month for an apartment with 10 year old appliances and chipping/peeling cheap linoleum, basic cheap cabinetry, etc is way too much. This is highway robbery and I will be moving out of here when my lease ends in October.

I've now lived at the Fairways at Timber Banks for a year, and I am thrilled to live here. The 3-bedroom apartment is roomy and bright, and was newly painted and carpeted when we moved in. The building is quiet and we only rarely hear neighbors. Service requests are completed right away without complaint, usually by the time I get home from work! The manager and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The pool and gym facilities are nice (not that I use the gym enough!), and snow clearing is early and often. I recently upgraded to a garage which is excellent as well, especially during the winter months. I have and will continue to recommend the Fairways to friends.

Once again, Timber Banks is raising rental rates at 4x the actual core inflation rate. They are deliberately attempting to price seniors out of their apartments. I sincerely hope the local news starts investigating these complexes and their private equity overlords pricing seniors out of living spaces. I’m sure it won’t matter to Dawn Homes or their parent company Springfield (a foreign owned entity), but maybe someone should speak with the Governor about punishing foreign companies who own such complexes and jack rates higher than CPI.

I have lived in the Fairways at Timber Banks for nearly three years now. My apartment was freshly painted and recarpeted upon move in. The management team is very responsive and they communicate things proactively...never a surprise. Maintenance requests are as simple as an email note and they are always resolved within 24 hours. The grounds and facilities are also well maintained. Snow clearing is timely in the winter and the pool is clean and refreshing in the summer. The parking areas were also recently resurfaced with a well designed plan. Other things I like...the apartments are on the beautiful Timber Banks Golf Course, the YMCA is less than a mile away, I can be in Armory Square downtown Syracuse in 15 minutes and it is close to Rt 31 shopping stores, restaurants and car deal

Enjoyed the two years I lived at The Fairways. Beautiful spacious 2 bedroom with den apartment. Maintenance & office staff were always friendly & responsive to any concern. Had a great family party in the clubhouse. Recently moved to Rochester & wished I could have brought my Fairways apartment with me!
