The Diplomat Apartments

Moving out to a different city after living here for almost 2 years but had a great experience! The staff (Emmet, Daisha, and Arthur) are very responsive, attentive, and friendly, and they made everything from move-out to move-in as smooth as possible. The facilities are quite nice and had no pest problems. Would definitely recommend!

I have lived in Washington DC for a long time and have resided The Diplomat for a long time. I have always enjoyed a grocery store selection in the area, and I love the peace & quiet after 11pm. I have always felt safe in my building! If any issues arise with operation of the front door, the laundry room, the gym, our Diplomat team members are all about being informative and action is always swiftly taken to correct any building issues! The park across 16th St, Meridian Hill Park aka Malcolm X Park is wonderful place to relax. I do love living here and you probably would too!

I lived here during graduate school in a studio and loved it here! So much... that I came because I moved to NY for work. Daisha and Arthur are absolutely phenomenal. They go above and beyond to make sure that you are satisfied and I can be picky at time 🙃 The building is CLEAN, never had to deal with any pests. Management does a great job at keeping the areas cleaned, shout out to our cleaning crew! The buildings location is central to EVERY thing (gym, grocery stores, starbucks), which is great for someone without a car. You have access to 18th Street and U Street for nightlife, if of interest. For a more serene vibe, Meridian Park is right across the street. Additionally, you have easy access to Downtown Silver Spring via the S2 or S9 busses, if you want to explore outside D.C.

Living in the Diplomat for the past few years has been a wonderful experience. The layout of the units are designed nicely so that you usually do not hear your next door neighbors. The kitchens are small but very manageable once you get use to working in a tight space. Maintenance is amazing and responds to inquires quickly. No issues so far with the building!

The building is a bit older and there aren't a bunch of fancy amenities like the new apartments have, but those places are a dime a dozen and honestly, how often are you going to rent out the common area in your building? The Diplomat has the best management and maintenance staff that I've ever encountered in all my years as a renter, and by no small margin. The location is great being right across from Meridian Hill Park, it's a smaller building with friendly tenants, but the staff is what sets it apart. I've lived at the Diplomat for 3 years now and have no plans to move anytime soon.
