Unfortunately we rented from them before seeing all of these bad reviews! Because low and behold 7 months into this property, paying 1k plus in rent, (never late) and it's just a mess...Electricity issues, plumbing issues...3wks on going with nothing but (broken promises)..actually thought the move from an apartment to a house would be better but nope...(these workers/agents are lazy and unprofessional. Beware of Rocky Mount rental agencies!)They're lairs and only concern with their own houses or they would repair they stuff but accordingto the other 1 star comments, I wasnt the only one....If I could take away that last star I would, not even worth 1star.

My husband and I rent a property through C21 in Rocky Mount. We adore the house we rent, but the staff @ the Rocky Mount office are beyond rude to me and my husband. There are 3 #'s for after hours emergency repairs, and when you call those numbers - NO answer. I had to call 9 times last night for a lady to pick up to tell me she was out of town and NOTHING could be done and to just call the office at 9. This is the 2nd time we have had major issues with the downstairs plumbing. My husband and I have had to miss work twice in less than 2 months because of the said plumbing issue. This does not include loss of sleep b/c of having to monitor the downstairs bathroom to ensure the bottom floor does not flood. VERY DISAPPOINTING Had rented my condo through them for 6 months. The house was vandalized by the tenants. I was told 21 century has their 2 months deposit and that I need to get all the cleaning and repair work done myself and submit the invoices to them. I spent almost $4000 to get the house repaired and cleaned and yet submitted the invoices for half the amount to them.. And they refunded me only 1200... ( which includes half months rent too) saying this is all we have ( one months deposit???) While handing over the house to 21 Century, I had mentioned that I do not wish to rent the house to anyone with pets.... But they rented to someone with two big dogs, who dirtied the house beyond cleaning.. ON THE WHOLE A VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE..

This company has stolen from me. I hired them to manage my property and was asked to send in $200 to cover a gardener. I moved into the property for 3 months to do renovations and a gardener never came by. I asked about the gardener and Doug told me they are scheduled to come the following day and they never showed up. When they showed my property to prospective clients the gates were left open after the showing and in the wind swung until they bent the metal brackets and wouldn’t close and no one claimed any responsibility and my father had to go and fix it. Most recently I got an invoice with no breakdown of work or cost totally over $300 for a fireplace to be covered up with plywood. Doug is very unorganized and unprofessional with a nasty attitude! I was in the process of renting a townhouse out from them and when I came with my concerns about renting it out he says “if you are not going to be satisfied it’s best if you get your money back” instead of trying to fix the things that needs to be fixed. This company just wants to take your money and is a rip off! Also needs more than one maintenance guy tries to put the blame/work load on maintenance.
