The Buchanan

We love this place for the perfect blend of classic charm and modern convenience but most of all we are constantly impressed by the professionalism and kindness of all the staff. There is a real sense of being looked after which is extra reassuring for foreigners like us. We feel so lucky to call the Buchanan our home in NY.

Luis, A Rod, Jose, Hugo, Mike are all incredible people, they make the Buchanan great. It’s just not worth the money to live there these days.

Best three years at the Buchanan. Great apartment and even better staff. In particular, Hugo and Ben were terrific and diligent doormen and put a smile on my face everyday. I will miss them!

This iconic pre-war building made remarkable changes for the greater! From the old courtyard to the new. Now, it has a beautiful indoor lounge and gym, and the very best part is how the building is managed. Great example: with the recent heavy rain in NYC, my electricity went out. Once I alerted the Super, Louis, he came up right away along with Franco to make sure of my safety. Worked till past 11 p.m. to restore the power. Thank you, Louis and Franco, for the hard job, and thank you to the Manager, Korab, for making sure the electricians will come in for the following day. And we are talking about Sunday morning!!! It's hard to beat when DEDICATION is involved!!!

This was my first apartment in NYC and I loved it. The location is amazing, so close to Grand Central. The staff was great, especially Hugo, the world's best doorman. I lived there for a year and it was a great introduction to NYC and the pre-war building is something that everyone should experience.
