The Bluffs at Carlsbad Apartments

JUST FYI- I had a previous review of the Bluffs that exposed how disgusting this place is. However, it must have been fraudulently flagged by them to keep the truth from prospective residents. SO here it is again. When I initially moved in, things looked decent from surface level and I decided to move in. The first night I got up to the bathroom and saw DOZENS of cockroaches crawling all over the walls and shower drains. The next morning I went to the office and they essentially told me I was making it all up, even after showing them photos. They said they would have someone take a look and spray. Worst Maintenance Ever at The Bluff at Carlsbad This place has the worst maintenance I’ve ever seen. There’s no safety, and the staff doesn’t care about residents’ problems. My refrigerator needed repair, and I complained several times online and in person still no one came. I even went to the office four times, and nothing happened. The whole community has only one maintenance guy! That’s ridiculous. If something serious breaks, good luck getting it fixed anytime soon. Terrible service from the main leasing office.

Steer clear incredibly incompetent staff. Had to terminate our lease early due to a cross country move. Communicated with Jacob in the office of this 3 months in advance. We submitted the notice to vacate as instructed and terminated our lease, or so we were told by office staff. A month after we moved out we received a letter stating we owed nearly 5000$ - paying for the months remaining on the initial lease although we had been out of the state for a month and gave notice of vacate 3 months in advance, confirming along the way that’s what needed to be done. He also had threatened to have our car towed out of our parking spot 3 weeks before we moved out claiming it was not ours. A lot of turnaround in the office, but consistently incompetent. I was looking for an apartment around the area, and I was recommended to checkout The Bluffs. Ever since I moved in, Amanda and Jacob have been amazing in lending me all the help I needed. Whenever something with maintenance comes up, they are on top of it. Professionals with busy schedules but always make time for their tenants and their well-being. Thank you Amanda and Jake! Also, I have a beautiful unit and I couldn't have thanked them more for it. Definitely recommend.

If you work from home, do not move here. There is constantly children screaming outside or maintenance doing things outside during all hours of the day. It's somewhat nice to have a management team that's hands-off, except when it comes to something that needs managing such as this. Also, good luck if you ever need something fixed in your apartment. It will take them weeks to even acknowledge you and you will have to reach out multiple times to get things fixed. Not sure if it's all buildings, but my building has lost water & hot water without notice many times over the past year. Feels like they are just putting bandaids on things without actually fixing it. Very happy to be moving out.
