I’m sharing my personal experience in hopes of helping others make an informed decision. From the very first month after moving into Astoria Apartments, I experienced a persistent roach infestation that never went away during my entire time living there. I saw multiple roaches on a daily basis, including in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom (one even landed on my face when I woke up). This continued even after the so‑called “treatments” performed by their pest control service. What made the situation even worse was that Astoria billed me for extra pest control treatments, despite the treatments having no noticeable impact and the infestation continuing as if nothing had been done. Edit 1: 49 days post lease and still nothing from Lynco, even with a demand letter from a law firm still crickets. Edit 2: 58 days post lease. Had the useless corporate team lead Heidi based in Tulsa, OK reach out to me after they finally realized they messed up...They've attempted to now Fedex my security deposit back and here I am still waiting. This apartment complex and management company Lynco is willfully and actively engaging in breaking the law. They willfully violated the Tenant Deposit act by holding my security deposit longer than the state required 30 days. Listen‼️ The Astoria is the place to be! My sons and I lived here for 7 years until we moved out of state. From the time that we moved in, Kasey and the staff, made it their business to treat us like family. We were not tenants, we were apart of the Astoria family. I vividly remember the day I signed my lease, I didn’t feel rushed and was able to get answers to all of my questions. While I’ve had some friends who had maintenance horror stories, ours is totally different. They were always prompt to fixing the FEW issues that we had in those 7 years. On the day of, they would always call to verify that it was ok to enter. Another thing I liked, they made sure to explain to me what they needed to do in order to fix it. I've lived here 3 years. Not a fan of the new property management company that took over this year. Lots of issues with getting things repaired and waiting on parts that have to be approved. Folks have been waiting a while to get their AC units fixed. Security gates sometimes have problems, so the complex is not always secured. There is only 1 large compactor that has issues at times, so people just pile up their garbage in front and that attracts rodents and bugs. The complex could certainly use a second compactor unit. Residents MUST use valet trash service, and you cannot opt-out of the service. Lease agreements are all done on-line, so you have no option to not agree to this service if you don't want it. I lived here for 3 years. The apartments are nice and spacious, and the biggest reason I would recommend this place is because the office staff and the maintenance crew are FABULOUS. They are very responsive and quick to get to your issues. HOWEVER, the downsides are as follows; NOBODY picks up after their dogs, the grounds are filled with dog crap so watch your step. There is only one compactor, and nobody can put their trash in it correctly so it’s constantly broken, which means people start to pile their trash in front of the compactor instead. You can only imagine how many roaches that brings in…just gross.
