Texas Department of Motor Vehicles

The Portal states that they are open. I called to make sure they take walk ins and the recorder states that is closed. I even signed for an appointment in advance for the next day. I got there and still have to wait 2 hours. They don't update their on line services.... What is the point of having a Portal if it is not kept updated, is missleading. 😕

Complete waste of time, energy, and tax dollars. I had to take 3 trips to DMV to get a certified copy of title for one vehicle.They were not transparent or informative at all in regards to how picky they are to reject my application and required documents. I had to get a Release of Lien for my father's vehicle which was owned over 20 years ago. I followed the DMV instructions and provided the paperwork. My second trip to DMV, the agent rejected paperwork from bank for what I would describe as being picky and overly strict details. The reasoning behind what will not be accepted is not transparent at all. A document that was provided to me from bank certifying their name change was made in 2008. The representative from bank told me that there has never been an issue with certificate of name

Checked in at 10:50 not seen til 12:15. 13 windows only 4 open. Went for registration refund. Took less than 5 minutes once seen.

It seems like it’s a requirement to be rude and lack basic customer service skills to work here. You can go prepared, with everything you need and they’ll still find a way to make you fill out more paperwork and give you the run around. Window 4 has a disgusting attitude, I don’t recommend making a morning appointment unless you want to have a bad day.
