St. Lukes Place Apartment Homes

Lived here for 4 years, very pleasant when dealing with the Manager Tom. Sal, who works maintenance and his team were very helpful when we needed something fixed. Close to Bloomfield Ave, and very good restaurants nearby. Great place to live !

Hands down the best property manager of any building I've ever lived in. I have lived in many buildings in different parts of the country and have never come across a friendlier, more efficient, and always professional property manager than Tom. The same goes for Sal and the rest of the maintenance team. Whether I've called about a bathroom repair, a rare heating question, or a recent incident where a neighbor's broken car alarm woke up the neighborhood, Tom's reaction and willingness to always jump into action is really just unbelievable. I have no relation to Tom or the team, and rarely write reviews, but as the service is so above and beyond at St. Luke's Place, I wanted to share this important detail with anyone considering moving to Montclair.

Great place to live. I’ve lived in Morgan Properties since 2015, first in Rutherford and the last few years here in Montclair. Tom and his team are doing an excellent job - they’re always accessible and quick to respond to any questions. It’s an older building but the maintenance team is top notch. Sal goes above and beyond for the residents - he is just awesome. The neighbors are also very nice - a few weeks back I got stuck in the snow on my way to work and a few of them came out to help. Trust me, it was no small task either! If you’re looking for an apartment in Montclair where everyone looks out for each other, this is your place!

Lack of notification for safely being able to board pets when they have to spray for bugs in someone else's apartment in the building. No ventilation in the hallways inside the building, so expect to hemorrhage cold air in the summer. Rarely available property manager, who has no courtesy for tenants. Maintenance and the front office are kind, but you'll have to drive to Nutley to see the office in person. Saving Grace: I can smell pancakes from Toast, the restaurant next-door, in the mornings. Downside: smells like seafood at night because of the Seafood Shack next door.

Just be warned: unlike a regular apartment building that is willing to let you into your apartment in the event of a lockout for a fee (because as landlords they gave key copies and are only down the road in Nutley), St. Luke's Place by Morgan Properties cares more about cost cutting. I just listened to them refuse to allow the handyman to let my neighbor in her own apartment, insisting she get a locksmith, even though the handyman was already on his way. If you're looking for zero added value benefits to being in an apartment building, then look no further than St. Luke's Place by Morgan Properties. At least they take the trash out to the curb, I suppose.
