My daughter lived in SOVA in 2021 and 2022. The experience was not wonderful, as they constantly had to battle being infested with roaches, and several maintenance items were not repaired in a timely matter during her time as a resident. Shortly after she moved out we received unfair and unethical charges for items such as cleaning charges and painting. My daughter cleaned both her bedroom and bathroom deeply and I saw the rooms at move out. They were not dirty, plus any apartment complex should regularly clean and maintain an apartment after a resident moves out. Also, the walls were not damaged beyond what a normal wear and tear would consist of. However, we received a bill for $457.50 for these charges. We fought the bill and thought we had succeeded. Fast forward to 2025 and had no fur
AN HONEST REVIEW BEFORE YOU MOVE IN: The problem is the $1k I pay in rent and the building is dirty, the stairs smell like fumes, the gate being broken constantly, the trash piling up all the time, the speed bumps always broken - I pay too much in rent for my apartment building to look like the slums. I had to deep clean the apartment upon move-in, it was not clean, things were broken, paint splatter and overspray were everywhere. It seems like they charged people move-out fees but then used the money for something else - would like to know where that goes because our apartment was very clearly neglected and did not reflect $1k+ rent, nor the move-out fees they had to have charged the last residents for. Maintenance has came within 2-3 days of putting in a request, which isn’t my complaint
I had such a great experience with Richard and Jayln at the leasing office. They were both super helpful, patient, and made the whole process really easy for me. They answered all my questions, explained everything clearly, and actually took the time to make sure I understood my options. You can tell they really care about the residents and want to make sure you feel comfortable and supported. If you’re looking for a place with a team that’s professional, friendly, and genuinely good at what they do, definitely ask for Richard and Jayln. Highly recommend!
Avoid SOVA at all costs. They charged me for “damages” that were already there when I moved in. The apartment was completely trashed on move-in day — dirty, damaged, and clearly not properly prepared. We documented everything, yet somehow I’m the one being billed for it. It feels like they look for ways to keep your money instead of taking responsibility. Management was nowhere to be found when we needed them. We reached out about the condition of the unit and got little to no response. Being ignored when you’re paying this much in rent is beyond frustrating — it’s disrespectful. The gates are almost always unlocked, which defeats the entire purpose of being a “gated” complex. The only real key you need is for your actual apartment door, meaning anyone can walk onto the property and rig
inaccurately reported that I have charges due years later after I moved out and I’ve been fighting to dispute it off my credit. The property manager, Sarah Garcia, hasn’t sent me an update in a month and i’m sitting here with my credit being ruined over their issue. she confirmed that I don’t have an account due and I’m sitting here years later having this affect my credit score for literally no reason. it makes no sense.
