Southern View I/II Apartments

Update: We’ve now lived here for 2 years. Here’s an honest breakdown of our experience. Pros: - Affordable rent for the area - Maintenance team is generally good and responds reasonably quickly - New maintenance management (still forming opinions, but an improvement from before) - Feels decently safe overall, although we did experience a recent theft (see cons), nothing else has happened personally - Amenities: pool, gym, computer lab, and a small game/hangout area - Great location: right next to the highway for easy access - Conveniently on MLK with quick access to stores, restaurants, and campus Cons: - Theft concerns: Before moving in, staff mentioned that robberies, especially car break-ins, happen occasionally. Never try to move out. Don't trust management on their word. They make it exceptionally difficult to settle up and will scam you. We were charged to replace all of the carpet in our apartment after a flood caused by the old and deteriorating pipe. Worse yet, it is impossible to dispute charges despite what management promises you unless you "get it in writing". May as well get the document notarized. ALSO the payment portal never worked forcing me to pay rent via check each and every month. End of the day, decent space and good amenities. Several lessons (~$560 worth) were learned, but that's what college is for, right?

I have been living in the Southern View about seven months, so far it is amazing. It is safe, beautiful, organized and have good maintence. I gave 4 stars because sometimes it is a little bit noisy. I do not think it is a big deal, but sometimes it happens.

Great management and staff. They are helpful and are fast to fix maintenance orders. Had my washer break late Friday evening they had it fixed Saturday morning. The leasing staff are very informative than other Lindsey Run apartments. If they didn’t know a question I had they would ask another employee and give me a correct answer and not some bull. Great location and not bad apartments. Wish the cabinets were all dark wood and the counter tops were granite. Overall best place to live.

I absolutely love my apartment, the staff, and the environment. I live with my toddler and we love it. The reviews on here have always confused me because the staff have been helpful and kind from the jump. Never had a single issue. If you treat people with respect then you’ll get respect back. Maintenance is super quick and they address any problems you have without a second thought. This is my second apartment with them and each time the apartment is clean and ready to go when I move in.
