SOMAK Property Management

SOMAK is a complete joke of a company and an embarrassment to the property management industry. Karina is the worst of it- rude, incompetent, and addicted to conflict. She doesn’t solve problems, she creates them, and she seems to enjoy watching clients struggle. Communication is dead here. Emails vanish, calls are dodged, and issues rot for months without resolution. On the rare chance you get a reply, it’s dripping with arrogance, hostility, and zero accountability. This isn’t just bad service—it’s negligence, plain and simple. SOMAK is toxic, unprofessional, and utterly incapable of doing their job. If you sign with them, expect nothing but frustration, disrespect, and wasted money. Run in the opposite direction.

This is by far the worst experience I’ve had with a property management company. Karina is extremely rude, unknowledgeable, dismissive, uncommunicative, and generally unpleasant to work with as she thrives on power and arguments as she tend to enjoy watching turmoil. Communication is practically nonexistent, and when you do manage to reach someone, the attitude is unprofessional and dismissive. Karina, in particular, is rude, unhelpful, and shows zero accountability. Emails and calls go unanswered, follow-up never happens, and issues are left unresolved for weeks even months to mostly never a response. Paying clients deserve better than being ignored and treated with disrespect. If you value responsiveness, professionalism, or even basic courtesy—look elsewhere. You will be very disappoint

I’m a resident of an HOA who choose to use SOMAK Prop mgmt. I should say the issue is not SOMAK as an organization, but Karina as a manager. She does not put the community first. She controls the board to work against the community with her lack of communication, fails to follow up with residents concerns, forces meetings where she does not have to attend personally or respond with a personal touch. The list goes on.. I would not recommend this company.

I am a resident in a condominium association that is managed by SOMAK, with Karina Smith acting as our manager. I have been carefully tracking SOMAK’s performance over the past 7 years. During this effort, I have compiled a body of information reflecting what I see as poor performance in specific cases as well as a mountain of communications with Ms. Smith. Hands down the absolute WORST property management company I have ever encountered. If you love being ignored, not valued and never having emails or calls returned, then this is the company for you! However, if you want a property manager who actually helps their tenants, fixes issues before they become major problems, and provides customer service, look elsewhere. In particular, Karina, is terrible. If she is the PM of your complex, you better hope nothing ever goes wrong because it will never get addressed.
