Shamrock Court Apartments

The upstairs apartment has a water leak that’s seeping into our unit. The management has only provided fans to dry up the water but expects us to continue living under an active bathroom leak. I’ve been told I cannot break the lease, and that the damage caused by the upstairs unit is somehow our responsibility according to their policy. I need assistance getting out of this lease without losing my security deposit or being charged additional fees. The management is requiring me to pay $1,400 and stay for another 60 days just to end the lease, which feels unreasonable given the living conditions. I do not recommend living here. Our apartment has had the bathroom water leak from the upstairs unit into our bathroom multiple times — including Friday, October 3rd and Monday, October 7th, and once before that. The management has failed to fix the problem permanently. On top of that, the apartment has a severe cockroach and mice problem, and despite multiple requests for pest control, nothing effective has been done. The conditions have become unsanitary and unlivable, and it goes against my religious beliefs to live in filth. I asked management to waive the $1,400 termination fee since the apartment is not livable, but they’ve shown no accountability or concern. I have been living here since 2012. The management has improved with a serious force tackle issues left and right. They even transfer my family and I do a large unit with no stairs to better assist my son bound to his wheelchair. I wish they offered four bedroom apartments or at least 2 baths. Very conveniently located to schools and two outstanding recreationally centers not to mention Battle Creek Park!

I am a current resident since 2019 and I like my apartment. Management has gotten soooooo much better than when I moved in. Yes there has been some issues but all of them have been resolved or are being addressed and addressed. It’s a good starter apartment. The maintenance team are very good. If life hits you they are always willing to work with you. The new office manager is phenomenal. She is very respectful very willing to help super nice and sweet but sometimes I do not like certain residents that are here due to their actions. I do think that the rent is a little high, but that is just due to the current event. It is a good area with trails and parks.

I have lived here for a year now and just renewed my leased. I believe overall its a nice neighborhood, lots of nice places to eat and parks as well as walking trails. It could use a few updates here and there but the management is very understanding and usually does well with helping your needs and when rent is due. Haven't has the best luck with tenants being noisy above me but usually quits at 10pm. It's kid friendly and tenants are usually pretty nice. Would recommend for a small family.
