Scott Gardens Apartments

I’ve lived at Scott Gardens/Meridian Apartments for many years, through multiple management changes, and the current team is by far the worst I’ve experienced. Since the new management took over, the care and respect for residents have completely disappeared. Management has made nasty comments and even said that anyone with a washer or dryer will not have maintenance requests fulfilled — which is completely unprofessional. Almost every apartment here has the same problem: severe ceiling water damage that’s just patched up for the next tenant instead of actually fixed. The maintenance team works extremely hard, but they’re overworked and under-supported. It has been a month and everyday there has been no heat. The heat is set to 60 degrees and in this freezing weather, how can anyone live in this cold? There’s also no hot water, it comes and then it goes away. Now, I’m not even sure who to go ask for help. When I go to the manager of the apartment, he says to go to the mechanics office. When I go to the mechanics office, they say to go to the manager. The manager’s attitude is extremely bad, I just said we have no heat and he yells at me saying to go to the mechanics office and that it’s none of his business. It’s my first time with this happening, I didn’t know I had to go straight to the mechanics. I have called everyday for a week and someone does come to fix it but they do not fix it completely. Got me for $100 dollars. When anybody asks you for money order or cash only, it’s a scam. It’s 2020, even a corner store has a credit card machine and can print you a receipt. Never counted the money or gave me a receipt or anything. Caught him outside walking and he took the money and slid it into his pocket and insisted to just give him a call the following day. Gave me a paper application. Can’t remember the last time I filled out a paper application for anything and he couldn’t give me an exact date as to when an apartment would be available. Submitted this application against my better judgement! They denied my application. Never been denied from any apartment community before. I want a refund and my personal information back ASAP!

The photos attached to this say what they need to. Apartments are nice, maintenance is nice and so is management but as far as the people living here it is a gamble. You can get good neighbors or people who have parties all night and are all out smoking and doing drugs outside. Can’t have your windows open or your kids running outside. Over all the saddest experience of my life since by boyfriend and I get no subsidy from the state and pay to live here to give our child a nice place to live. Now we don’t even want to go outside in the summer because if not I have to show my child everything I try to shelter her from and chose to pay ALOT of money to live in a place that we thought would be a decent place to live. This place was the worst to live in my life. That place is infested with bed bugs we had to move out right away we lost everything only live there for 7months. When we told the management about the problem they tried to make it seem as if we brought bugs because they never and that probably but when maintenance came to the apartment they let it be known that always have a problem bugs in those apartments. I wouldn't wish what happen to me and my family on no one. We move in with all no furniture and left with nothing when I mean nothing I mean everything
