My boyfriend and I recently moved in, and working with Deborah Pendergass made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. From the very beginning, she was incredibly joyful and helpful. She made sure everything was ready for us prior to move in and was very attentive. Anytime I had a question or needed assistance, Deborah responded promptly and always had clear answers. It truly felt like she cared about making sure we were comfortable and taken care of. I am sharing my experience regarding a issue involving a vacant condo managed by Scalzo Property Management. The condo was owned by an elderly 84-year-old woman who had maintained the property since 2008 and consistently paid all association fees on time. While the unit was vacant during the sales process, an unidentified backpack/package was left outside the door without the owner’s knowledge or consent. There was no name or address on it. Instead of notifying us and giving us the opportunity to remove it, a fine of $715 was imposed. We requested clarification, evidence (including photos and timestamps), and policy references, and attended a board hearing to present our case. The matter remained unresolved for a prolonged period, causing unnecessary stress during the condo closing process

If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would. Scalzo is by far the worst property management company I’ve ever dealt with. They are completely incompetent, unresponsive, and frankly seem to have no interest in actually maintaining the communities they’re supposed to manage. Work orders are ignored for months—sometimes years. I personally have one that’s been sitting unresolved for over two years. And this isn’t unusual. Everyone in my development feels the same way—people just trade horror stories about how Scalzo delays and avoids doing any actual work. From what I’ve gathered, this is their business model: push off repairs and maintenance as long as possible in order to save money and pocket more of our maintenance fees instead of reinvesting it back into the property.
