River Place

I’ve had a great experience living here, starting with the leasing office (Grace Kelly was fabulous!). The doormen and concierges are lovely and kind. The mgmt office has been communicative and any maintenance requests have been handled efficiently. The building app is helpful and neighbors will post things they’re selling. My only negative feedback is the building gym. It’s annoying to have to pay extra for it and they are so strict about guests, which is annoying because it’s the one part of the building that has outdoor space to sit. So when I have a friend over and want to sit outside with them, we literally have to pay a guest fee, which is ridiculous. Additionally, the morning shuttle isn’t super reliable and gets filled up fast (like 10 minutes before it’s supposed to leave). The s

I wanted to wait a few months before writing a review to fully experience all aspects of the building from the leasing, management, fitness center, concierge, and doorman. And without a doubt I can honestly say that everyone is well trained and professional. From the time that I meet Brian (the leasing manager) I have not been disappointed. Brian is not salesy like other buildings and takes the time to address all your concerns. I have been in 100s of buildings in my career as a NYC real estate broker and choose River Place to call home because of the price, amenities and Brian.

Upon reflection, my tenure at RiverPlace has been marked by a series of service challenges. The building itself shows signs of age and lacks proper maintenance. The responsiveness of the management team is notably lacking, with delays spanning days or even weeks to address issues. The steep rent increase of over $600 during lease renewal was unexpected and disconcerting. Persistent maintenance problems have been a recurring theme, including a long-standing dysfunctional air conditioning system and a heater that remained inoperative throughout the winter. Disturbances from neighbors have added to the discomfort, with police involvement over minor incidents like daytime vacuuming. The gym, which charges a $110 monthly fee, has been disappointing with a broken water fountain and slow repairs

I work for a furniture company and I went to make a delivery at 1 River Place. My work tool was stolen. I spoke to the building manager and he told me to leave because he wasn't going to give it back to me because I had taken the wrong elevator. I called the police and filed a report. Based on my experience, it is one of the worst buildings in New York City.

I stayed in River Place and absolutely loved living here. The staff was beyond professional and kind, the rent was cheap compared to other places and the view was phenomenal. I highly recommend it to anyone looking at the Hell's Kitchen area.
