Was stuck using RI housing years ago in RI and they were terrible, now I'm stuck with them again all the way in Maine. Watch your Financials and where they go because these people LOVE to mess up your mortgage. They don't return calls and they never actually have a solid answer for why the payments keep going up even if you prepay for things like taxes. Keep on these people because they love to give you the runaround. I think it adds fun to their day.

I've been a mortgage customer with RI Housing for 8 years, and my experience has been consistently positive. Their staff has always been courteous and helpful throughout our relationship. When my family faced financial challenges, they worked with us to arrange special forbearance options that made a significant difference during difficult times. I've noticed some negative comments about RI Housing online, but I can only speak to my personal experience with their mortgage department, which has been excellent. Everyone I've interacted with has been knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely interested in helping. I have had my mortgage with RI Housing since 2004. With the exception of one experience, I have been pleased with the service I've had. I would say they need to rethink how they deal with in-person visits (waiting in the lobby for someone to come down and talk to you). It doesn't extend the privacy that I think should be afforded customers. But I haven't had to go into the building in years. And the revamped website is great; it's educational, clear. I would strongly suggest using it. Mailing a check takes too long to be received and reported (though I'm not sure why in this day and age people would do this). Everyone's experience is different with RI Housing Authority..People need to remember that!!!! Not everyone has a good experience with RI Housing!!! If you have a good experience with them then that's good for you! My experience has been horrible and l stand on that, period! And I've heard horror stories from other people who have dealt with them and still are dealing with them...
