Reverie on Cumberland by Ashton Woods

We 1031'd a property and had to close on replacement properties in 180 days. We bought one Ashton Woods townhome in the Reverie as a resale, so it was practically new. It's beautiful, and the upgrades are nice, but now we own 2 units here. Pluses- On the second unit we bought, we were very specific that we HAD to close by Thanksgiving due to the time constraints of the 1031, and if we couldn't close in time we would have to pull out. They made our unit a priority so we closed on time, even after the window delays. The floor upgrade we chose is stunning, almost too nice for a rental. This HOA is operating in a rather peculiar manner. They are abusing their authority over their residents. Usually, they discourage residents from using guest parking spots. However, some residents persist in parking in guest spots, unaware of the HOA’s rules. White Jeep Wrangler vehicles are monitored for parking violations. They are convening residents who violate parking to park in guest parking spots. Perhaps they know the residents. Some residents decorate garages and do not park their vehicles, and park their vechicles for long periods in parking spots for guests. Additionally, they have implemented a rule requiring residents to place their trash cans outside from 5 p.m. on Mondays, but many residents disregard this rule. The Homeowners Association (HOA) in this community appears to be overstepping its authority. Rather than fostering harmony among residents, their actions often seem to cause frustration for homeowners. A quick look at Zillow reveals a significant number of homes currently for sale in the neighborhood. It's reasonable to consider that the HOA’s lack of professionalism may be contributing to this trend. In contrast, if we look back just a year ago, there were very few homes on the market, suggesting a recent shift in homeowner satisfaction.

The HOA of this community spent one weekend failing to fix the gate of the community. The swimming pool has been closed for a few weeks with no reason. Nice! Very professional HOA! I have never seen such a professional HOA company!

I am a new resident of Reverie at Cumberland, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! Emily was great to work with; she answered my "first-time home buyer" questions and showed me so much patience throughout the process. She sent me weekly updates leading up to my close date, which was great! She was responsive and always full of information when I contacted her. Again, couldn't be happier with my decision!
