Residences at the Streets of St. Charles Apartment Homes

I loved my time at Streets of St Charles. Hear me when I say: The place is well worth the rent cost. You really do get what you pay for. The floor plans are amazing-big kitchens, good appliances. The apartments are well insulated; sound proof- I only ever heard deep bass or dog barks in the hallway. I was on the 2nd floor, the lowest residences floor. I only heard low noise from the restaurants in my laundry room-didn’t hear it otherwise. I had a patio overlooking the parking garage-never any noise or issues. The maintenance guy was always so quick to act. The lease team/property manager were always so responsive, friendly, and helpful. Move-in and move-out is well organized with an elevator designation and a spot for the U-haul. My refund check from the initial move-in deposit is fair. I

Overall, I'm really pleased with the Residences and it's a good experience. Two things that are annoying: The nonstop barrage of ads for their "partner vendors" such as a cleaning/handyman service and the obvious effort to force you into buying an insurance policy from their renters' insurance partner. Because I had the gall to go with Progressive, for a much lower premium, I'm on at least my third demand from their partner to update the "Interested Party Information" on my policy. I'm writing this review while on hold with Progressive to deal with the hassle, necessitated by the management company and insurance playing musical chairs. Do not move here if you value peace, privacy, or respectful treatment. Living at The Residences was one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever had. If your unit is located near the back of the building by the parking garage, prepare to constantly hear people doing burnouts, revving engines, screaming, arguing, and employees of the businesses below yelling and talking loudly on their phones. You won’t have a view — just a depressing stretch of concrete — and people frequently walk around the top floor of the garage and stare directly into your windows if your blinds are open. Noise isn’t limited to the parking garage either. If you live on the second floor, be prepared to hear karaoke and loud music from the bar below well into the early morning hours, even on weekdays.
