I was with RE/MAX Advantage leasing a Henderson rental since May 2023 and had a very poor interaction a month into renting under Sandra Thomas, property manager. She blamed my family for “breaking the AC due to not replacing the filter each month” which is absolutely ridiculous that it’s in the lease in general. We were displaced from the rental home for 3 days with an infant of 1month old and a dog while her contracted HVAC team worked on figuring out why it broke without compensating us for the displacement. She said “that’s what renters insurance is for”… ludicrous.. Once they realized there was nothing wrong with the filter or the AC itself, they found a broken wire in the fuse box to the AC.. it was not our fault and we did not receive an apology from Sandra. After entering a lease and moving in found the house needed several repairs, the sprinklers leaking warranting a citing from LVD Water, the washing machine flooded the house the first night and again a month later took more than a month to get repaired, the dishwasher was not working correctly and reported but ignored until it eventually flooded the kitchen.I Have not received any status or update on a plumber for the consistent leak that flooded the kitchen overnight. It has been a nightmare trying to get any of these issues resolved, let alone a return phone call. The sprinklers were not fixed so they had to be shut-off and landscape looks bad. If I could give Zero stars I would. I’m not a complainer. I usually only review to give kudos. The owner Sandra is by far the most unethical, and non-compassionate individual I’ve come across. She charged us for flaws that existed before move in. The property didn’t even look like it was ready for move in when we did. Carpets were dirty (we had them professionally cleaned by Zerorez and you should have seen the water afterwards). The blinds in the entire home upon move in were completely ruined. We had to put in a request to have them replaced. (Not sure why this wasn’t done before we moved in) Sink and toilets were leaking. Paint scuffed up throughout the home. Carpet had bald, missing patches. Smoke alarms didn’t work and air filter was black; yet we were going to be accountable if these
After signing a lease and doing the walk through check in and turning it in. (Of course making a copy for myself) All the other previous reviews are spot on! Moved out and Sandra and her minions saying they never received nor have a record of the check in walk through paperwork. Stay far away from dealing with them! Crooks and you will not get your deposit back and have to move forward with filing a complaint with the better business bureau.
