Park West Village Apartments

Maintenance is incredibly slow. I had a leak in my apartment, it’s been over a month and hasn’t been resolved. I have to follow up multiple times to get a response. Not to mention, lots of cockroaches in the basement. Every time I do my laundry I see at least a few cockroaches.

Very poor management company. I came home one night and found that I forgot my key in my room, so I went to the doorman to ask for a spare key, but the spare key didn't work either. The doorman called the locksmith for me, and it took me until 11 o'clock in the middle of the night for the locksmith to come and change the lock for me. But I was asked to pay the $400 fee on the spot, and Doorman promised me that the PWV management company would cover it from my next rent, because it was their fault that the spare key didn't work. I went to the management office to inquire, and the first reply they gave me was that there was no problem and they had already recorded it and would cover the cost for me. But one month later my rent did not cover this part of the cost. So I went to the management

I love the PWV staff and living environment it’s so difficult to find dog friendly apartments and this truly is one. The dog run is very accessible and great for the animals. Whenever I call for maintenance Kim always picks up the phone with a positive attitude and the maintenance staff is very helpful and they come within a reasonable amount of time. They also offer for the staff to come when you aren’t home which may seem uneasy for some but after some time here I know the staff is incredibly reliable and trustworthy.The Terraces are beautiful and a great addition if you can get an apartment with one I use mine everyday and even have a small garden out there.- jessina w

I lived here for a year and the place itself was fine. We moved in to a unit with water damages that we weren’t told about, so they had to completely change the flooring while we were there. It was definitely a headache, but they did compensate us for it without much debate, so I’d say in terms of NYC landlords, they’re definitely one of the better ones. The gyms in the building are dark and musty, but it is free, so can’t complain too much. I’m giving 3 stars mainly because moving in and out is possibly one of the worst experiences you’ll ever have. You have to move things in from the back of the building down a flight of stairs into the basement, walk what feels like a mile to the elevators and then up to your apartment. We rented one of the renovated so-called 1 bedroom apartments (upper west-side $ market prices) with the promise that building upgrades and renovations would be completed within a few months. 9 months later and there is no sign that corridor rugs will be replaced, elevator doors cleaned and/or upgraded, etc. Additionally, the building maintenance is very poor. As concerns the front desk security, there is none. People come and go without person at the front desk asking where people are going, or calling up to the apartment to ask if we're expecting someone. This is not a secure building or safe situation.
