Palo Verde West

The dorms are old and smell like a moldy hotel. They're pretty small rooms as well, and the walls are so thin it's hard to sleep at night. You can hear your neighbors, the street, if there's construction (and they do construction usually very early in the morning so RIP). Not enough washers and dryers for everyone on the floor that you have to share with, elevator is always broken so be prepared to climb 4-6 flights of stairs in the heat if you live on the top floors. Definitely more worth it to spend the money to stay elsewhere.

AVOID. I’ve lived there for two months as a visiting student and have been progressively feeling unwell. I then saw in the West and East building’s google reviews they were full of mold and that I’m not the only one that has felt unwell living there. I’m allergic to mold so that makes sense. Besides this, I could sometimes hear people running (?) above my room, banging on the wall or yelling at night (e.g., 2AM). Contacting repeatedly the front desk/administration had zero effect. Overall a terrible experience.

The rooms weren’t that bad, but the bathrooms were extremely small. The bathroom light was burned out since move in, yet they don’t fix it. Had to shower in the dark. Shower, toilet, and sink were old. Hallways and elevator smell of drugs. For the price, it’s not worth it. If you’re an AZ resident, might as well commute. They charge so many fees. Don’t let your kids live here! ASU has so much money yet choose not to renovate or build new dorms for their students. CA’s are nice, but they don’t do anything if you have problems with your roommate. Might as well contact someone who’s above them. Community director, Jason, is horrible. He never responds to emails, yet expects a response within a day! Contact the VP or dean instead of you want something to be done. Extremely unprofessional.

10/10 do not recommend. The showers are peeling & moldy, the carpets are dirty, everything is just very old and dilapidated. In addition to those problems, the popcorn ceiling is also unsightly, not to mention it often falls on ones head and/or bed.

I enjoyed my time at PV West but it was really the friends and the wonderful staff that made the experience. The dorm it self is okay with its fair share of problems such as, a flakey elevator, inconsistent WiFi, and smallish rooms. Not really worth the price you pay but better than some other dorms on campus
