Open Door Rentals and Real Estate

Looked a cute 2 bedroom apartment in Harlen,In First thing my daughter and I noticed, That of the ceiling tiles were wet ( possible leak in ceiling somewhere). As we continued Thur the apartment. I noticed 2 weak spots in the floor. Flooring was put over the bad spots. Someone could tripped and fell. But worse was. The black mold on the walls in hallway. 🤬 Called the office to let them know are finding, do not process our application. We are not interested. We did ask if we get out 50 application fee back, since application was not processed. She said no. She gave no reason why we can’t have it back I hope who ever lives in the other apartments don’t get sick because of black mold.

Looked at an apartment in harlan super cute and was perfect for my family. I called the office let them know what I found upstairs apartment was leaking into lower unit(101) I wanted. Wall was wet and had black mold, floor had 2 soft spots, leaking spot by the front door. Front and back door was unlocked. I told them I love the apartment if the problems were fixed I would rent the unit. I know for a fact know has not been rented it in a long time. I was told no it will be wait listed and is still posted online. I asked for my deposit back simply because thats the only unit in harlan.(im from that area) Not looking for fort wayne.

I love my open door rentals They all have been so helpful my landlord gets things done if something goes wrong they come and fix it. Open door rentals is a good place to rent from long as a person follows the lease you shouldn't have any problems I haven't had any at all I have great neighbors and I try to be a good neighbor as well I just feel if people had a problem with open door it was something the tenant done or didn't do cause open door has been GREAT to us

They had my neighbors address under my number and when I called to them, I basically got screamed at saying it was my fault. My furnace was also broken (never ended up working after they “fixed” it), and they had to contact my neighbors to get approval to work on it and they couldn’t contact them so they said they weren’t going to work on it unless I went over and got approval… because that’s my job to do. They started to manage my apartment half way through my lease and since then it’s been a crap show. Don’t go to them unless you want Very rude customer service, a charge for every single thing, or the landlord special!! Most of the time they don’t care unless it’s a property they actually own. Be careful, at first it’s nice then it changes.

I wouldn’t recommend renting through them they refuse to give you most of your deposit back they make up their own crazy charges . It doesn’t matter if you clean the house and send pictures they’re still going to charge you a “ light cleaning “ fee I was charged 110 dollars for that . Then make sure there’s not a tiny spot of paint missing on the walls they’ll charge you close to 150 dollars for “ touching it up “ doesn’t matter how long you were living there . And if you can deny the benefit package I would there’s no point they’re still going to charge for pest control if you have a pet and mind you you’re paying for pest control in your MONTHLY benefit package but they’ll take close to 130 from an $800 deposit to only getting back $300 is robbery but they don’t care about that it isn’t
