Great place to stay. I've stayed here multiple times and it is always very clean with a home like feeling. The quality of this house is outstanding. No corners were cut making this hostel. Holly is a very welcoming host and will help you in any way she can during your stay. Harmony hostel makes a great base camp to for all your outdoor endeavors. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking to stay in the area.

As college students, we needed a safe, clean, and economical place to stay while we did some snowboarding at Sugar Mountain. Harmony Hostel was all of these and so much more! The hostess, Holly, is absolutely wonderful and only provides the best service! The security of the building and safes in the rooms provided a safe environment. The showers, bathrooms, linens, and common areas were always pristine! If you're looking for a great place to stay (in a wonderful town with so much to offer including access to the AT!), Harmony Hostel is not only best deal you can get, but also the best experience you can expect for accommodations. We will definitely be returning soon!

What an awesome find. Got snowed in and stumbled upon this gem. Holly is wonderful person, so nice and accomidating. Her hostel is the nicest I have ever been too. Very private hostel, and you have the option of a private(beds are in one large room sectioned off with walls 3/4 up) room or one with one other bed. So clean. She works very hard to keep this place spotless. Very nice kitchen with everything you need, and a lounge area to hang out and relax.Coffee/tea and toast in the morning. Highly recommend and I will be back.

This was my first experience staying in a hostel and I won't hesitate to stay there again next time in Banner Elk! Holly is the nicest and made sure all of her guests were taken care of including helping me find an affordable company to put snow chains on when my car got stuck. Can't say enough good things about her and her hospitality, very happy I chose to stay here.

I have never stayed in a hostile before and this was a very good first experience. If you don't know what hostels are look it up before you call Holly. The place was very clean and I was very comfortable leaving all of my things there in the lockboxes and with all of the cameras. This place was cleaner and more comfortable than most hotels I stay in I appreciate Hollie's help in navigating the area and her suggestions for restaurants. I would stay again
