I lived in this property for almost two years. Due to a change in circumstances, I contacted management in advance to ask about terminating my lease early. At no point did they say it was not allowed, and our lease agreement did not include any clause about penalties or forfeiting the security deposit for early termination. I provided approximately 45 days’ notice before moving out. I left the home in good condition — all nail holes were patched, minor wear and tear was addressed, and the property was clean. I also documented everything. Despite this, they refused to return my security deposit. They did not provide an itemized list of damages, receipts, or any explanation of alleged expenses.
