Norstar Apartments

We just moved in a couple weeks ago and so far our experience has been great! Right after the tour we applied and were approved within 24 hours which is great to not have to worry long. The outside area is full of plants and trees which makes it look great and makes it feel a bit more secluded and personal. The inside of the apartment is in great shape and feels very spacious. This is my first time getting an apartment and the whole process has been made so easy. I have received several emails and papers that break down how to use various things such as online portals for payments. The staff have been beyond helpful in explaining things and answering questions both through speedy emails and in person.

When we moved in it was good but then we slowly realized that some rooms don't have lights. They also don't seem to do maintenance on things very often we currently have a dryer that makes a horrible noise when ran and does not have a lint cather tray and the other you can't get the lint catcher tray all the way down because it's so full. The salt they use on the sidewalks is not pet friendly.

I don't normally write reviews but this is probably one of the worst apartments I've ever lived in. My apartment constantly smells like cigarette smoke, I have told the leasing office multiple times and they said they have asked the other residents but what is that going to do? Not a single notice has gone out about smoking inside the apartments and the first floor hallway smells like smoke so its very obvious smoking is happening in the building. There are other issues that just come with living in apartments with communal laundry rooms but that is fairly normal in my experience. The worst part is the smell and dealing with second hand smoke when I am not a smoker and this is supposed to be a smoke free residence. It has been a great experience living here. The transition was smooth and simple along with the move-in process. Heather in the leasing office is great and helps out with any questions or concerns that you may have.

No landscaping, issues mowing, people constantly leaving personal items and trash both inside and outside the building, they don’t shovel sidewalks and entrances, barely start snow plowing until after you have to get to work, communal areas in disrepair and filthy, maintenance sucks, management sucks, pool rarely open even tho it’s supposed to be an amenity, false advertising on their website states “resort like living”, building not secure due to broken locks and never being fixed, garbage bins always full and overflowing, and the list goes on and on! Please if you are considering living here, DO NOT!
