Mount Vernon Apartments

I lived in Mount Vernon Apartments as a child in the '90s, and recently, I visited with my son to share a piece of my childhood with him. I wanted to capture a photo of him swinging on the same swings I once did, but to my dismay, the complex is now in a state of disrepair. The playgrounds are rundown and far from kid-friendly. My heart sank when my son said, "Mommy, you brought me to a playground that's broken, from a tornado." Both play areas look neglected, and the once-functional basketball court has deteriorated into nothing more than cracked pavement. The overall atmosphere felt abandoned, with most units having tattered blinds and an eerie emptiness. My husband and I searched for apartments for months and we thought we had found the perfect place… the man who showed us the apartment promised us that we would get a place with an in unit washer and dryer before we agreed to signing a lease. They made us wait two MONTHS till a place opened up. They had told him a date to move in and said everything was set a ready…. So he completed moved out of his old place and signed the lease… then they told him to come back the next week because the lost the keys to the apartment. HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE EXTRA SETS OF KEYS AS AN APARTMENT COMPLEX OFFICE??! And after a week they told him the apartment actually doesn’t come with a washer and dryer?! And if he wanted he could wait a move into an apartment with one except he’d also have to pay extra. FALSE PR

I don’t recommend this place to anyone. The current management is a huge problem. They terminated my lease because they wanted to. Ms Vandella Williams can’t remember what she promises the residents from day to day. But she will put her family members in quickly. All buildings need to be gutted, instead they put band aids on their fixes. As a occupant there maintenance request are bandaids. Sadder still they employee relatives of each to keep the money in their pockets. Even worst Sr. Management believes everything they are told. No pet policy… all lies everybody has pets there. Drugs sold on premises, dead bodies found in unsecured laundry rooms. Renter BEWARE… go up the street and find another place to make your move. The roaches are there for sure

I have been living in Mt Vernon Apartment since 2007 and I will tell this is the best place to live. Anything negative here is just what happens to every Apartment. My only problem is the water bill but I also think of how safe it is to live here.The maintenance guys are the most respectful guys I have ever met. My next problem that i don't blame the staff is my inability to get a ground floor due to severe back pain either than that nothing will move me out from the complex.

I am a current resident of Mount Vernon Apartments, my family has been here going on 4 years. During my time here I have had a few challenges. Every challenge was met with respect, patience, understanding and care. I received support not only from the office staff but from the maintenance staff. They have gone above and beyond to accommodate and solve every challenge that has taken place. No matter the size of the challenge they made sure there was some type of solution. I want to acknowledge specifically Mr. Torian Broggin. His dedication, care, integrity, professionalism and something you can’t teach, humanity is rare. He does more than his job, he see the resident as a person, as a human and takes all of that into consideration when dealing with the task at hand. He is a very valuable
