Mid-Cajon Apartment Complex

I am a current resident at the Mid-Cajon Apartments and have lived here for about a year and a half. I'm giving it a five star review not because it's a luxury resort, but because it provides everything that I need and can expect from a standard apartment complex with no issue. Firstly, the management here is great. Danika always provides prompt replies to questions and always provides us with ample notice ahead of time if there's to be any work to be done on the building. Maintenance is always dispatched with a great response time, even for small things like helping re-attach a closet door. Secondly, gated off-street parking with EV chargers available. I lived here for 3 years with my boyfriend who had lived there for 8 years. Originally moved in because of location and cheap rent but landlord continuously raised rent. What started out as a $800 apartment was raised to $1350 by the time we moved out. No upgrades were made to the apartment to account for the raise. We received a refrigerator that came from the apartment next door and it had bugs in both the freezer and fridge. The buildings were infested with bugs that ate you alive in the summer. Several apartments were infested with termites and cockroaches. The plumbing is outdated...the hot water would come out rust colored and there would be an odor. Lived here for a year, the manager Danika is awesome and things get fixed very timely, the only negative I would have to say is that during the summer the termites in my unit were awful at the kitchen window, but nothing a little termite killer didn't help. Also there are only 2 washers and dryers for the whole complex, but there's also a washeteria across the street, just a tad annoying. The rent is decently cheap and the location is amazing, but the streets are loud at night on the weekends, I didnt mind except during the summer bc I would keep my window open bc it was so hot. Also annoying, TANDEM parking, so you and your roomate would have to decide who is leaving first in the morning and switch your cars accordingly. Overall, I liked living here, I would have stayed if I didnt move in

I have lived here for a year and will be renewing for another one! While I agree with the other review that this place is not luxurious, I mainly wanted to shout out the property manager, Danika. I have never had such a pleasant and easy experience working with a property manager. Danika responds to questions and concerns promptly, communicates well between her repair team and tenants, and explains rental-related matters in the simplest terms. She has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you, Danika!
