McKaig Court Apartments

I have a friend that lives here, so I visit quite often. I’m only writing this so they don’t catch any heat from the landlords. Giving them a 2 since I don’t actually live here. The place needs cleaned up. Lights need added around the buildings and the parking lot, for safety at night. My friend said the complex was placed under new ownership YEARS ago, but still waiting for all these “upgrades.” Good luck talking to the landlord, I believe his name is Philip? He’s friendly, unless you don’t see things his way. I’ve heard my friend on the phone with him before, if you don’t agree with what he says, he’s no treat to deal with. This place was a joke. When Tim was there this place was amazing. After he left and the new people took over it was all about money. I lived there 5 years and when I left the manager became rude and threatened to make sure I never was able to rent another place. Everyone there pays different rent even if your setup is the same. No proper repairs done just get bys, then when that doesn't work the tenant is blamed for the shoddy work. There is subletting being done there and when brought to the attention of management told he didn't care as long as rent was paid. Made sure my apartment was left clean and with new blinds for them to install and still charged for damages. When things break they try to blame you and the owner refuses to rectify the ongoing bed bugs situations and there’s mold growing in the bathrooms that the owner just paints over after every new tenant moves in. And if the owner decides your not worth it threaten eviction over anything do not live here. I repeat the owners is a slum lord stay away!

Paid rent on time never caused issues and landlord became aggressive and hostile when we left claiming he would take us to court and other threats while the apartment was not cleaned when I moved in while also having plywood where old ac wall unit was did not take us to court sent us straight to a debt collector and had expired fire extinguishers / smoke detectors that did not work properly in the halls for months even before I moved in. They had a fire start in the live in employees apartment and still won't fix things from what a few current residents I still talk to have said. Stat far away I have pics of this place and texts showing how wishy washy they are as well as every email. Edit emailed owner and waiting for reply. If I could leave negative stars I would. I know someone living there who has no working heat or air and hasn’t for over 2 years now. Despite asking for it to be fixed he uses his own window air conditioning units (because they never gave him one) and he uses a space heater because they have yet to fix the issues. They are not consistent with lease renewals. And WILL raise your rent with every single one. It’s an overpriced dump with nasty carpeting and rundown apartments. They want him to pay almost $800 for a 1 bedroom with no air or heat. And that doesn’t include any heat or electricity bills. I pay $850 for my 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, townhouse with a garage and patio. Washer dryer hookup, dishwasher, garbage disposal, central air and water is included in rent. DO NOT come here. I repea
