I lived here 34 years ago. The men who owned it then were fantastic! (Can't remember their names) They worked with me as a single mother with no support. Old even then, it was cute and different. The rooms were all small but as a single, pregnant woman it was perfect! The kitchen had glass doors. (don't know if they still do) The bedroom barely fit a twin bed. And there was no central air. All hardwood floors. Everything was original which made it so authentic! However, I loved living there. It was a great neighborhood with great neighbors. I've read the reviews and can understand some of it due to it's age. Sounds like it's in need of an upgrade. Not too much though because it's so unique. Genuinely could not recommend anything less. To start- black mold. While living there I had black mold covering the walls of my bathroom. It allegedly started with a sewage leak into my walls. It was gross and unlivable. I mentioned this the first time with no rectification even though I made it known that it was imperative to be handled. Three months later and larger mold spots I was finally told maintenance would be coming to fix it. At no point was I told I was going to be displaced from my apartment due to strong chemical odor- but I was. For three days I had to get a hotel on top of paying for a full months rent because they refused to prorate rent for this. Shady property management. Maintenance came in my apartment, with no forewarning or notice, while I was gone (RED FLAG #1!!!). My PlayStation was stolen, an heirloom ring from my grandmother, and god only knows what else — any/everything of value was stolen from me by their employees (yes, there is a police report). Did I receive any sort of reimbursement? No. Was my rent prorated to account for the theft? No. Did management acknowledge that an employee entered my apartment and stole from me? Yes. I was beyond shocked when, a month or so after moving out, I had a hit on my credit report for almost $1,000 from this place. I only had the opportunity to live in McGregor Properties for a short term lease (4 months of a 6 month lease) but had a great experience and cannot recommend them enough! Brenda and staff were so kind and easy to communicate with. The internet is a tad slow with so many people sharing it in the Beverly building but that was literally my only concern. Maintenance requests are addressed quickly, my neighbors were all very nice, and the location is incredibly convenient--I definitely recommend living here!

Tried to get some information from this place, and no one would answer so my only option was to book a showing. After more researching, I found many reviews left on this man named Jay that seems to be the manager. Everyone had nothing but bad things to say, but I was hoping the management had changed. I call and finally get ahold of someone to let them know I was there a little early, Jay was so rude on the phone. Instantly you could tell this guy was miserable and took it out on everyone else. If he talked this way to a potential renter, I could not imagine a tenant. Save yourself the time and don't even look at this place.
