I would avoid doing business with Matt at all costs. I am surprised he has such high reviews because my experience with Matt was nothing short of horrendous. What should have been at most a 2 week process was dragged out to be 5 weeks. I almost lost a home purchase because of Matt. Luckily my realtor had another mortgage company ready to properly handle the process and was able to close things out in 2 weeks. Matt would request documents from me and get back to me 1-2 days later saying "Oh, this is not correct" "I need this document as well". He should be in constant communication with me, not taking 1-2 days to respond. I used Matt and CrossCountry Mortgage to finance my home purchase earlier in the year, using a USDA rural development loan. I overall had a great experience and would 100% recommend others to finance with Matt. He was incredibly helpful, thorough, responsive, and friendly throughout the home buying process. Critically, Matt was able to get a pre-approval for financing turned around within just a day so I could start working with a realtor. This was much appreciated since the previous lender I tried dragged their feet for 2 weeks and never sent an approval in writing.
