Lydian 400K Apartments

I lived here with my partner for 4.5 years. In that time, what was a well maintained building with a great sense of community has devolved into a constant battle with management and an unraveling of community standards. The issues all started with Quadrangle's purchase of the building. For the purposes of this review, I'll focus on the years they have been in charge. PROS: -excellent location in a great neighborhood -amenities are great (with the caveat of the below cons), the rooftop is beautiful -Greg at the front desk is amazing. He runs a tight ship, and I've always felt safe and taken care of when he's working. -Apartments are spacious -I never experienced pests in my unit -Maintenance and cleaning staff are friendly, responsive, and good at their jobs CONS: -management is a nightma

Cons: Thin walls: You hear people in the floor above rolling their window shades down, can hear the elevators moving in the walls if nearby the elevators, can hear speaking through the air vents sometimes, etc. Elevators: They got stuck several times in the year we lived here, all three times with people inside. Further note, the fobs are tricky to tap and take way too long to register. Cell service: The service was terrible in the lobby, hallways, and our unit. Calls would drop all the time as I moved throughout the unit. This was one of the most frustrating cons. Pros: The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the amenities were clean and up-to-date. The area and proximity to public transportation, restaurants, Safeway, and more is unbeatable. I lived here for several years and recently moved out. Overall, it was a good place to call home. It hit the mark on the important things, but it has room to improve, especially at the price point. Pros: * Amazing location. Always felt safe; close to two metro stations, many restaurants, a grocery store; and only a 20-minute walk to the National Mall. * Management. They were quick to respond to my emails and generally helpful in resolving issues. Move-in and move-out were seamless. * Size. The apartments are generally larger than others nearby. Likewise, the pool is probably the biggest in the Mt Vernon Triangle neighborhood * Views. Some apartments have views of the Washington Monument, and the roof deck has views of most of Washington. * Generally, a clean building. * Starry Internet is

I love this property. Meka was so great with the moving process and very communicative. She is amazing. I am so thrilled to have worked with her . No issues whatsoever. Quiet and clean. I love the amenities. My dog is so excited to have a dog park which takes away the stress of preparing for a trip around the neighborhood first thing in the morning.

The Lydian markets itself as a “luxury apartment,” but the customer service feels anything but. The front desk acts more like a scolding nanny than a concierge—quick to tell you what you can’t do, slow to actually help. They won’t lift a finger unless it fits whatever arbitrary rule they’ve decided matters that day. Their main role seems to be policing paying adults rather than supporting them. If your idea of luxury is being stonewalled and talked down to by people who are supposed to be helpful, maybe this place is for you. Otherwise, keep looking.
