Locker Room Lofts

We needed an apartment for one year for my husband who started a job in Roanoke. Our son was a Senior in high school so I stayed behind to let him finish the school year. We had one weekend to secure an apartment. Many places did not respond to me for a tour. However, Ryan, the property manager responded right away and offered to show us an open and available apartment at the Locker Room Lofts. The apartment #405 was perfect for what we needed and it has the best mountain views. The apartment is long and narrow, the entire length is filled with windows, creating an incredible view. Anytime maintenance issues came up, they were quickly fixed. (There were only minor issues such as the garbage disposal not working). Ryan is very friendly and responsive. I moved into locker room lofts in 2019 when Michelle Rhodenizer was the property manager. She was so kind and understanding (we were coming from an unstable/unethical landlord, Tammy Britt). Michelle was quick and responsive, and flexible with my roommate and I during our very sudden move-in process, and she really looked out for the building and tenants. I thought, there could never be another property manager as good as Michelle. But then Michelle brought Ashley Ferrer on as the new property manager. Holy cow. Ashley is a no nonsense, responsive, and fair property manager who is constantly trying to make the building a safe, clean, and an enjoyable place to live. This sinkhole has been there for a month before it was brought to their attention supposedly. Not motorcycle friendly. There’s too much air of arrogance when dealing with the people in the office (Brian Brooks). In a matter of 5 minutes, I was told 2 different reasons on why all of sudden you can’t park motorcycles behind the fence. The dog park fence was broken for the longest, with the clamp not working. Overall their customer service skills suck.

I had problems with the roof leaking in my unit (213). In heavy rain, gallons of water would pour in from 9 different places across every room. Each time it happened, I reported the issue, and management said it was fixed. However, the ceiling continued to leak. When I requested another apartment, the management company said that I could move to a smaller unit for a price increase of $200 per month. I declined and moved out at the end of my 8 month lease. I did get my full security deposit back.
