Laurel Ridge Apartments

I have lived at Laurel Ridge Apartments for the past three years and had an outstanding experience. From the start, the management team was friendly, professional, and always quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had. The maintenance staff were extremely impressive. Any time I submitted a service request, it was handled promptly, the team is consistently kind and considerate. The community itself is very well-maintained, with clean common areas and a quiet, welcoming atmosphere. It is also close to everything. Overall, I highly recommend Laurel Ridge Apartments.

Laurel Ridge was a good place to live for two years. The amount of space you get for the cost is great. The apartments are kind of worn with age but the maintenance staff is excellent and super responsive and any issue was fixed without much trouble. Location-wise it’s perfect, right next to the J bus line, and only 10 minutes away from Franklin Street. I did occasionally have issues with loud noise from one of my neighbors, but it was a handful of times and the property manager was able to resolve the issues. The property was otherwise very quiet, peaceful, and felt completely safe.

Would never recommend to anyone. The apartment smelled like mildew from the second we moved in from a leaking broken refrigerator and that smell never went away. The dryers illegally vent inside (right beside your kitchen) spreading dust everywhere. Little rodents get inside all the time. The water frequently has black rubber particles coming out of it. We had water leaks from rain and the sinks at least three different times. The property manager will refuse to fix any of it. She was only swayed when we had a building inspector come out for the illegal dryer vent and OWASA come out for the black rubber in the water. It was a nightmare to have to deal with her. I had the worst allergies of my life living in that moldy, dusty apartment. Never got my security deposit back either.

I was so happy with the two years that I lived at laurel ridge! The maintenance staff is incredible. Kenny will be sure to communicate with you about the progress of any maintenance requests. The office staff was always very helpful and easily contacted. The rent was by far one of the most affordable in the chapel hill area! I typically opted to walk to campus (approximately 25-30 minutes depending on which building). However, there are two bus lines near by (the J and CM) The dog park was awesome compared to my new complex! The only real issues that I had were the bugs (which you will most definitely have anywhere in Chapel Hill) and a leak that was difficult to fix. This leak was due to my townhome (59) being on a lower ground level than the one next to it. Overall, this was a great

Laurel Ridge is a great place to live! It seems to be mostly graduate students and families, so it is a very quiet atmosphere. The apartments are a little older, but for the price and location, it is well worth it. The two and three-bedroom apartments are two stories, making them feel very spacious, with washer/dryer units in the apartment. Laurel Ridge is walking distance to campus/Franklin St., while still being conveniently on Highway 54 for easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The staff in the office are always so nice when I stop by and they are quick to fix any maintenance request. I highly recommend this apartment complex!
