Lake St. James Apartments

I have had an extremely frustrating experience with this apartment complex since moving in. I am currently being charged extra fees that I have already paid, and despite numerous emails, phone calls, and in-person conversations, the issue has not been resolved. I have been repeatedly told the charges would be removed, yet they continue to appear on my account. I have requested multiple times to speak with accounting and property management, and I have received no response. The lack of follow-up and accountability is unacceptable. I will not be paying charges that I do not owe, especially when I have documentation showing payment. I also cannot afford to continuously cover mistakes that are not mine. I have been living here for 3 years now. A new management company has taken over and I can already see positive changes. The previous management was absolutely terrible/rude. New management is 10/10! Maintenance requests have been handled VERY quickly. The leasing office actually answers the phone and returns calls. If a maintenance request has not been solved, they reach out to make sure there is a resolution. Everything is just SO much better and I cannot wait to see what positive changes are in store. Beautiful community. Friendly neighbors. It feels good to be able to actually trust management to listen, address concerns, and come up with quick resolutions to keep tenants happy.

DONT MOVE HERE!!! If i could give this place ZERO I would. The apartments are infested with gnats although they charge every month and NEVER spray!! They NEVER answer maintenance requests!! My current situation is what really pushed me to making this review. On July 15,2025 i put in a maintenance request to have the ceiling looked at because I noticed a water spot, no one ever came!ii went to the leasing office 2 days later, the maintenance guy was there leaning on the counter, he came and felt the ceiling said the apartment above ac was leaking and they would have to get someone out here. I've been living here for over two years, and the management and maintenance were really bad. I think they've changed everything now, as they're giving much better maintenance to all the buildings and making a real effort to improve them. The people in the office are very friendly and efficient, and the maintenance is much more effective. I really recommend living here. Also the had a lot of amenities I had a 1 bed, 1 Bath

I've been living in St James for a couple years now and always had issues but the last few months took the cake. I'm just going to tell you about one incident that just recently happened. St James know that my heater thermostat was not up to par, constantly having problems with my AC and my heat. Let me say this they fix the thermostat after weeks but nonetheless it's fixed. I called in the office after it was fixed this week Wednesday, to let them know that my heat is continuing to run after it hits the temperature that is set at. Meanwhile my energy bill is going through the roof. When I tell the front office this, she tells me to turn it down to 69 and call us back because if the heat is working maintenance not going to run over there to see what's going on.
