Update- it’s always cold in this building. Historically there have been problems with the boiler system. Sometimes we go a day without heat at least overnight and into the morning. You have to call the emergency number constantly to get someone to come out and turn on the boiler.I have lived here forever and things just get better and better here. Our current manager, Erik Henson, his staff ( especially Leon) and contractors are far superior to any other in town. They really truly care about the property and the happiness of their residents. They are very quick and efficient in action, along with hospitable, polite, engaging, respectful, and caring. Google will only let you leave one active review so I have to update this. In the year since I left this review; services have gotten even

Living at Kew Gardens is a dream. Honestly, I've lived in cities all over the world and this apartment complex is one of the best. It's clean and beautiful. Management (Eric!!) is responsible and responsive. The neighborhoods are mostly quiet. There are apartment-wide events every few months--recently we had Mexican food and a Mariachi band. Anytime we've had a maintenance issue, it was taken care of quickly. Also, my husband and I want to live car-free, and we can do that easily here. Everything we need is within walking and biking distance. We also have multiple buses around us; 2 on our block and others nearby, and the metro is a 12-ish minute walk, or 3 minute bus ride. There's a market nearby where we do most of our grocery shopping and a Trader Joe's only a 15-20 minute walk away. An

I lived here for one year (2023-24) and do recommend this place for several reasons. 1) Location is superb and I felt safer living here alone than anywhere else I’ve lived in DC 2) It’s well managed - management is really responsive, maintenance usually comes the morning after making a request, the grounds are well maintained and the building is kept super clean. The manager Erick keeps everyone informed on anything happening in the building and Princetta at the front desk is so nice and helpful. 3) It’s generally very quiet and peaceful, and neighbors are respectful. From my unit I could never hear the next door neighbors. I could hear walking (but not music/tv) from the unit above. 4) Grounds, units, and views are beautiful. I had an older unit that wasn’t updated but still loved it

My experience living at Kew Gardens under the Bernstein Management Corporation has been fantastic. Since I moved here 5 years ago, numerous renovations and upgrades have been made to the building (e.g., lobby, fitness center, coffee station, free printing). Management is also very communicative - sending out regular emails with updates on the goings-on in the building and giving us advanced notice of necessary maintenance checks, and always responding in a timely fashion (typically within 24 hours) to personal maintenance requests. I have been very happy living here and have always felt well taken care of!

These apartments are not worth the cost at all. The studios should be in the low 1000s, 1 beds in the high 1000s, and 2 beds in the low 2000s based on what you actually get here. I think people who moved in a long time ago may actually be paying around these rates since the units are rent controlled (maybe they are leaving all the five-star reviews too). If you need to live in Georgetown, I’d try the highbridge or renting a condo. If you have to live in this particular building for whatever reason, make sure you see your actual apartment in person before you rent, and also consider one of the “renovated” units. Some units are very dark. Ours was dark and moist, so nothing ever seemed completely dry. The units are not well maintained. The paint job was horrible (peeling off and bristles fro
