Intracoastal Realty - Bald Head Island

Our family has been coming to Baldhead Island for approximately 30 years. we have rented through Intercoastal Realty several times. This time we booked secret of life. House near East Beach through Intercoastal.We were quoted a price for the August 17 week 2025 of $9764.76. If you read the fine print, they revealed that they can change the rates. This is the week after the kids go back to public school so not exactly high season. When we got the balance of our payment due, the total rental changed to $14,938.29. Even if we gave them the benefit of the doubt, nobody changes their rate 50% in one year. Our stay at BHI was abbreviated on BHI in August due to a pending storm. After our departure a very small package arrived for us. II requested that it be sent me in Raleigh. After two months, Intracoastal sent it to me. Later, I received a phone call requesting $10 in postage. This is ridiculous. While it may be "policy" to have renters pay for items items left on the island, in this case it is penny wise and very pound foolish. Intracoastal should have just mailed the very small item. We paid over $6000 for our rental house. We only stayed for 5 days. Then I got a second call. The woman was quite rude. For pity sake. What an embarrassment. It's not the $10. It's the principle. We own land on BHI and would never consider selling through Intracoastal. We come every year

Tried renting through this company, and the customer service reps don’t appear to know anything. I thought maybe it was a third party company that books… nope! Terrible customer service. The women was very pushy about booking, saying that they would refund me afterwards… I didn’t book because I wasn’t comfortable.. thank goodness I didn’t because what she said was not accurate! I’d book through one of the other BHI rental company’s
