Lived Here for 2 Years, Nothing But Trouble. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I lived at The Oaks for two years and it was a complete nightmare. My neighbor harassed me constantly and management did absolutely nothing when I told them about it. I also had my Vespa broken into and multiple packages stolen from THE MAIL ROOM—this is not a secure place to live. After dealing with all that, I was hopeful the move-out process would be smooth. I was wrong. I spent days deep cleaning the entire apartment. Despite my efforts, they not only kept my entire security deposit but also sent me a bill for additional cleaning charges. It's ridiculous and feels like a complete scam. Save your money and your sanity—find somewhere else to live.

Absolutely adored living here! Robin & Mike are wonderful and always accessible when you need them. If you ever need maintenance, Mike will show up same day or next and fix the problem quickly. Robin has been the sweetest property manager ever--very communicative and works with you to make sure this place feels like home. The apartments are in a fantastic location on South Congress and a brand new HEB is being built right around the corner. For the location, the rent prices are honestly such a deal in comparison with other apartments in the area. My unit was remodeled and incredibly spacious. I would keep living here if I didn't have to move to a different state! Love the Oaks <3

Lived here for a year and a half. It was generally okay but there plenty of red flags and the management was absolutely awful to deal with. The positives are the apartment was generally clean and the maintenance staff (Mike) was super awesome. There’s also some cool people that live there and most people I met were friendly. That being said, there were plenty of bad neighbors and the place is expensive given the age and cheapo re-models. Firstly, my packages got stolen regularly. From both my front door and inside the mail room. When I asked management for a video of the mail room regarding my package being stolen, they claimed they didn’t see anything (aka the camera is fake). I highly recommend getting a doorbell camera if you live here. It’s the people living there stealing packages. A

I loved my time at The Oaks! The apartments were very quaint and had a lot of original old austin details. The complex is very well maintained and quiet, and everyone is so friendly! Robin and Mike are the most wonderful property/maintenance managers ever, incredibly friendly and helpful. If I’m ever back in south austin, this is where I’ll go first.

I lived here 3 years during grad school and a year afterward. Great location - I moved outside the city and often wish I was still in this neighborhood. The Oaks had great staff when I was there. Very helpful and friendly. The one bedroom apartments are small and fine for one person, maybe two. There was a good amount of storage for the small apartment. The only negative was that the walls/floors were super thin and I could hear everything the neighbors did...and I mean everything. I suggest getting a top floor apartment here if you can. If you don't trash the apartment, you will get your full deposit back.
