Awful apartment (196 Stanton) - had to move out early since the company needed to demolish the bedroom wall halfway through the lease bc it violated city fire code. Beyond that, we had a roach infestation, the ceiling leaked every time it rained, and building door system broke down for over a month. Not worth $5100/mo.

I was a tenant at 212 E 14th Street, and I really liked Helm. I believe they did a great job in responsiveness, they were very prompt and clear. Lived there for 3 years. The space was small, but over the 3 years, had a great experience with Helm. Would definitely rent from them again!

I would give zero stars if I could. Where to begin… When we were touring the unit we ended up signing for in the East Village, they promised the oven would be replaced when we moved in. Needless to say, a decades old oven was still in the unit when we moved in and never once did Management contact us about updating the appliance. Then, 3 months into our lease, 2 of 2 dryers stopped working rendering the laundry in our building useless and forcing all the residents to walk around the corner to the laundry mat which costs ~$10/load. Although Helm provides a “Help” #, it is very difficult to get in touch with the actual landlords (Paul I believe is his name). Thus, you get stuck with complaining to the supers or the management assistants who hold no power and act as human shields for the land

I was a tenant at 196 Stanton Street for 3 years. The building is newly constructed an in very good physical condition. It withstood Hurricane Sandy without signs of leakage. The apartments are well constructed and well appointed. There are nice fixtures and windows. The building has an electronic access system which is very convenient. The super and the handymen were very nice to deal with. The building is managed by the Helm Management company. I had a very good experience with them. They were always very professional. They treated me with consideration and fairness throughout my stay.

I really don't think Helm deserves the bad rep I see it getting on Google. I think everyone who works there is pretty friendly and understanding, and that they did a pretty decent job overall at managing the property I lived at. I lived at the Saint for a year (2015), and in terms of: - Cleanliness; Jermaine the super kept all parts of the building very clean (entryway, elevator, hallways, roof, refuse rooms, laundry) - Maintenance: The few times I had things that were broken (eg dishwasher), I emailed them and they got it fixed the next day - Communication: Was pretty easy to phone them to communicate. They missed a few emails here and there but I always felt I could reach them if I really needed to - Deposit: They could have been more timely on returning my deposit upon move out, it t
