Great opening phone conversation, but then their agent "Deb Dahlberg Rowland", wanted me to sign legal documents that would put me, the buyer, on the hook for her commission if anything went to contract, before we even met. Anything could happen between contract and close and nothing would give me an out. Not willing to do that as a buyer. Especially, before I even meet someone. Seller should pay buyer agent when the deal closes and I won't sign anything that says anything else. standard or otherwise. No verbal promises of "it never goes that way and I wouldn't sue" will convince me to be liable for what could end up being $15,000 or more when its not even standard practice for a buyer to pay the agent themselves.
