I had a terrible experience with the management at Harlan. In February, I visited the office to secure an apartment for a mid-March move-in. The manager at the time, Cassandra, explicitly promised to honor the February rate for a March 14th move-in, provided I applied that day. I submitted my application immediately, and it was approved by Melanie Solis. Despite following up, I was told by Melanie that I wouldn’t receive lease documents until move-in. A week later, my wife found our "reserved" unit (#714) listed as available on their website. When I went to the office, the new manager, Miguel, claimed my application was canceled because they "couldn't reach me"—yet I had zero missed calls, voicemails, or emails. At first move in I had many issues within my unit. However after expressing my concerns and frustration Melanie the leasing agent was more than helpful in communicating with her team and getting them done for me . I appreciate her hospitality, and dedication to making my experience as a resident here enjoyable stressfree and a priority to her and the staff. I would like to add even on her days off or away from the office her commitment to following up from her personal cell with me really created a deep sense of appreciation for her hard work and care ! She genuinely has made this entire process of fixing up my unit and making sure I have a clean and functioning space 10times easier than anyone else in the office. I moved into this apartment about three weeks ago. When I reviewed the inventory checklist at move-in, I found multiple serious issues, including: Bathroom leaks A ceiling collapse caused by a water leak Windows that do not open Torn stainless-steel window mesh A washer that was not connected I turned in the inventory list and was promised by a leasing staff member that all issues would be fixed soon. Three days passed and nothing happened. When I followed up with the same staff member, I was told that I needed to create work orders myself. I then submitted eight separate work orders. Maintenance eventually came, but the technician arrived without proper tools to properly connect the washer. He connected it anyway, and it immediately started leaking. I moved in around November 2025. During the initial walkthrough, I noted a few minor issues: two outlets didn’t work, the washer was missing a couple of wheels, and the patio door blinds weren’t secure. Nothing major at the time. I moved into the apartment about two weeks after the walkthrough. Shortly after moving in, I went to take a shower and discovered there was no hot water. I called emergency maintenance, but they stated it was not an emergency. While investigating further, I noticed that the hot water shutoff valve under the kitchen sink was broken and could not be turned off, and all of the faucets were leaking. Our Complex is really looking soooooo good!! Again all of the staff really is making Harlan at Medical look and feel like home. Also the Maintenance Staff have been working so hard getting all work orders done in a timely manner. They are all awesome and respectful. It's really nice to have employees that you can tell they care. Especially Art, he Is definitely awesome! He is very knowledgeable, helpful and respectfull and you can tell he really enjoys his job. He definitely is a positive crew member that goes above and beyond to make sure his job is completed correctly and makes sure the residents are satisfied with any work he does. The place doesn't even look like the same Complex that I moved in . Again Ty everyone for everything you are doing . I appreciate you all!!!
