Gilman Management Corporation

Gilman Management is one of the worst management companies I’ve dealt with. Communication is consistently poor, and tenants in stabilized units appear to be deliberately neglected. Repairs are handled slowly, cheaply, and often only after repeated follow-ups from 311 complaints, even when issues have existed for years. Despite their lack of responsiveness, they are quick to pursue legal action against tenants instead of addressing longstanding problems within the apartment. The pattern is clear: neglect first, pressure later. If zero stars were an option, I would use it.

I have 2 years of documentation, trying to coordinate water leakage from above into my apartment with the owner, management and super of my building. This is my apartment currently.

If I could, I’d give it 0 stars. If you want to be neglected and ignored by your landlord/management and also pay upwards of 2 grand a month for their “service” you should move here! The 311 reports for my building itself is in the triple digits. Highly advise to stay away.

After living in NYC for a decade, GMC is the best management company I have ever had. They have been nothing but responsive, kind and understanding given a difficult leasing situation I encountered last year. I have lived in my unit for 2 years and Brian has been incredible when it comes to helping me out and being flexible and attentive. I couldn't recommend them more and am confused by the other negative reviews....I have enough experience to know when a landlord or management company is difficult or unprofessional and this isn't the case. Especially because my building has 41 units...I am thankful and grateful.

I've had an incredible experience working with this management company. After nearly a decade in NYC, I've never had a better more flexible landlord / management team to work with. After dealing with an unexpected and difficult lease situation, Brian and the team helped immensely and continue to be responsive, kind, and understanding, which is rare to find, especially living in a large building in Brooklyn. I'm grateful to them and give the highest recommendation.
