Garber Manor Apartments

The manager was nice enough, I guess. She gave me some hope that maybe I'd finally found a place I could afford. Being elderly and on a fixed income, it's so difficult to find a place I can afford. Well, that didn't happen, even though I have excellent rental references and have never been evicted but when they ran my credit they refused me even though I had told her my identity had been stolen and it has my credit messed up! I also told her that I filed identity theft papers for fed and state and put a fraud alert on my credit. So needless to say, the bad credit and the fraud alert is their reason for not renting to me. Was told that I was approved. Ran all over Staunton getting documents, this being extremely difficult as I do not live there and I am disabled. I was then told that I needed further information in the form of statements from PayPal. I ran into difficulties and tried for over a week to get the requested reports, to no avail. Was not offered any other solution or assistance to the problem, which I find out now is widespread. Neither HUD nor PayPal has done anything to rectify the situation. The process became extremely unpleasant for me and I was not pleased with the reaction of the manager who was supposed to be helping me. Very clean and quiet atmosphere.with scenery of mountains ,local park and railway traffic. My observation found it to be safe as well as cozy for my mother that has been a resident for over 5 years .
