Frank 57 West Apartments

Lived in Frank 57 West for a year now, would not recommend living here. [Leasing experience] Quite as terrible as can be. Durst owns and manages these buildings, and reviews about absurd bureaucracy and move-out inspections that try to take advantage of tenants aren't hard to find. Initially I applied for an apt in the Via building next door. The response in the morning was that the rental terms had suddenly changed. While they already only offered 18 month leases, now it was increased to 24 months, and about $200+ added to rent. Leasing staff explained these were all set by main office and nothing could be changed. Ridiculous. Being turned off by the new terms, I was made aware of an available apt in the Frank building. The Via apt I applied for was still on the market when I checked 9

Living here since May and love how quiet the building is, love the layout/finishes, and the residents of the building. The washer & dryer in unit doesn't hurt either. Not having a doorman doesn't bother me either like i thought it would.

I love this building.very clean,have a quiet building. Management its always super helpful and it seems like every time.The trash room is well kept and the gym is a huge plus! The building even has little parties for residents and special deals like the early viewing of the new theater right . I would definitely recommend this building,love, love, love.

Current Tenant: 3 Star Experience at best, 2 stars when you consider price. Pros: 1. Okay/Good Area in terms of bars and restaurants (10 min walk) 2. Very quiet, not much noise bleed from the street 3. Secure Building / Safe Area Cons: 1. Absolutely horrible mailroom situation. Mailroom has ZERO order to it-- it's just a room with packages placed on the floor and you have to find yours. Really bad. 2. The security system is so overdone that it does more to annoy tenants than keep you safe. You have to literally scan your keycard 5-6 times from the front door to the door of your unit (front door, second door, elevator from outside, elevator from inside, then your apartment door). This means you ALWAYS have to go down if you order uber eats. They can't get up. So annoying! 3. No doorman.
