Forsythe Appraisals LLC

Our home was appraised by Forsythe in 2014 as part of a refinance. This was the first appraisal for our family, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Mr. O'Connor was transparent, thorough, and very knowledgeable. He explained his process, took our concerns into consideration, and the appraisal report he produced left us feeling confident. I recently approached Forsythe again (now First American) regarding an appraisal in an eminent domain situation. They were extremely thorough and honest, even where that meant having to pass up on a potential business opportunity. A business that looks to their customers' needs before their own is a business I will return to again and again. I highly recommend this company.

Forsythe Appraisals Troy Michigan office did an appraisal for a purchase we made. They were given the assignment on August 5, 2013 and submitted the report on August 16th. Only one problem, the appraiser Joanne McMurry did not complete all the information in the condominium portion of the appraisal. Forsythe Appraisals reviewed the report and did not catch the omission and sent it to the bank. The bank caught the error and returned it to Forsythe to complete the missing information. Forsythe called Joanne McMurry for three days leaving four messages on her voice mail and got not response until the end of the third day. As a result of all the mistakes and incompetence on the part of the appraiser and Forsythe Appraisals the closing was delayed six days. Forsythe was non responsive to

June 2015 Theron in the Twin Cities, MN did a great job on our appraisal. He was courteous, efficient, and explained the process thoroughly. The value came back lower than we would have liked, but when we reviewed the appraisal and the comps in detail we had to admit that everything looked fair and square.

These guys are the worst!!! Absolutely ridiculous appraisal. Had an appraisal done in November, then had them do one in June. According to this crappy company housing prices are better just before Christmas (historically the worst time of year) than compared to June. Appraisal is filled with errors. GO WITH ANY OTHER FIRM!!!

The appraisal received was inaccurate and there were numerous mistakes and discrepancies in the final report. I contacted the company to request comments on the items and the only response was that they weren't going to change anything. The county won't even accept the appraisal because its that far off base.
