Flats at Big Tex

From the moment I first visited The Flats at Big Tex, I knew I wanted to live here. My first impression was visiting a friend, and later when I toured the property, Joe from the staff made me feel very welcome. I’ve now been here for about two weeks, and moving in has been a game changer. I recently relocated from New York to San Antonio, and while I’ve missed New York a lot, this place has really helped me feel at home. My apartment is the perfect size and even gives me that New York City apartment vibe. The amenities are amazing, and the location couldn’t be better—there are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars all around that match my lifestyle. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to move here. For the first time since leaving New York, I truly feel like I’m home!

I've lost count of the times my mail box and the others in my building have been broken into this year. I've had a credit card activated and who knows what else. Even with the new locks in place it is still happening. Going to just suck it up and pay for a P.O Box. It's ridiculous to have to constantly worry about this. EDIT: Two weeks later and they have been broken into again! I do not feel protected living here

I’ve enjoyed living here at The Flats at Big Tex but ever since they installed the new system with Brivo Pass, the app used to enter through gates and buildings, I sometimes regret my move. I’m not sure if it’s just me but i find the system and app so faulty. Ever since it’s been installed, i have not been able to enter into the clubhouse. Going to the gym, i get a 50/50 chance on whether it’ll open or not. To enter in through the gates for the buildings, i just end up using the guest pass on ButterflyMX. I’m not sure why this was even installed in the first place because if the reason is to get rid of the key fobs, it’s pointless if I’m still using the fob to open my apartment door. I moved into this complex approximately 3 weeks ago and in that short period of time I have put in three work order requests. One for my kitchen range not functioning, a leaky bathroom pipe and backsplash light which still does not function. Two stolen packages with no possible resolution. On several occasions I have gone into the elevator with a large puddle of urine inside. The carriers consistently leave packages in disarray in the mail room which is not locked and subject to theft. I had two packages just left haphazardly in the mail room, which were stolen. The third was left outside in a corner despite clear directions to be sent upstairs to the residence, this cost me additional money to rent a hand truck to get it up to my residence. Living at the Flats at Big Tex has honestly been one of the best apartment experiences I’ve had. The location is unbeatable right on the river with beautiful views, easy access to the River Walk, and just steps away from great local restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries. The apartments themselves are modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. I love how spacious the layouts are, and the natural light is definitely a highlight. The amenities are a huge plus too especially the pool area and community events. What really sets Big Tex apart is the staff. They are friendly, responsive, and truly care about residents feeling comfortable here. Every question or request I’ve had has been handled quickly and with kindness.
